The Building

On Via Mazzini—the elegant pedestrian street that links Piazza Brà to Piazza delle Erbe—stands the seventeenth-century palace that now houses the holiday apartments of Homy Livia. One of the oldest and most prestigious streets in Europe, it was laid out in 1300 to connect Verona’s two main squares. Originally called Via Nuova and lined with artisan workshops, it was paved in the early 1800s and in 1907 dedicated to the Risorgimento hero Giuseppe Mazzini.
